As Mobile Device Technology has grown over the years, our ability to be constantly in touch with the office has grown. This ability is not without its risks however. A misplaced mobile phone, laptop, or other mobile device could prove to be more troublesome than at first thought.
If you have University email enabled for your mobile device, it's vital that the University data is protected. The University now enforces a procedure to enable PIN codes on your device.
It's in your best interests to keep your device locked. This protects University data, should your device fall into the wrong hands. If you do lose your device, you must remote wipe it
. Contact the service desk if this should happen.
Disposing of your mobile device
If you decide to donate, resell or recycle your smartphone or tablet, remember to erase any data on it first. Remove and erase any media cards and perform a full or 'factory' reset by going into the settings menu.
